Growth, development, and chlorophyll indexes of glyphosate and glufosinate-tolerant maize under herbicide application

چکیده

Glyphosate, glufosinate, and atrazine do not affect the growth development of glyphosate glufosinate-tolerant (RR2/LL) maize; however, results are less consolidated for these herbicides applied in mixtures. The aim present study was to evaluate effects post-emergent application glyphosate, atrazine, alone mixtures, on RR2/LL maize. treatments consisted (1080 g acid equivalent [ae] ha-1), glufosinate (500 active ingredient [ai] (2000 + control (without application). experiment carried out two locations under greenhouse conditions with different maize hybrids. Crop injury variables agronomic performance (height, stem diameter, chlorophyll indexes, fresh dry weight shoot, root weight, total weight) were evaluated. Herbicides or binary mixtures did cause major damage. However, three associated some situations might result detrimental

Impact of glyphosate-tolerant soybean and glufosinate-tolerant corn production on herbicide losses in surface runoff.

Residual herbicides used in the production of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr] and corn (Zea mays L.) are often detected in surface runoff at concentrations exceeding their maximum contaminant levels (MCL) or health advisory levels (HAL). With the advent of transgenic, glyphosate-tolerant soybean and glufosinate-tolerant corn this concern might be reduced by replacing some of the residual herbic...

Effect of the herbicide glyphosate on the culturable fraction of glyphosate-tolerant maize rhizobacterial communities using two different growth media.

A comparison was drawn between the effect of glyphosate (Roundup Plus), a post-emergence applied herbicide, and Harness GTZ, a pre-emergence applied herbicide, on the culturable fraction of the rhizobacterial communities of genetically modified NK603 glyphosate-tolerant maize. Two different non-selective rich media were used to grow fast-growing culturable bacteria, BHI and NB, as a more accura...

Effect of the herbicide glyphosate on glyphosate-tolerant maize rhizobacterial communities: a comparison with pre-emergency applied herbicide consisting of a combination of acetochlor

A comparison was made of the effect of glyphosate (Roundup®Plus), a post-emergency applied herbicide, and of Harness®GTZ, a pre-emergency applied herbicide, on the rhizobacterial communities of genetically modified NK603 glyphosate-tolerant maize. The potential effect was monitored by direct amplification, cloning and sequencing of soil DNA encoding 16S rRNA, rhizobacterial DNA hybridization to...

Herbicide Programs for Control of Glyphosate-Resistant Volunteer Corn in Glufosinate-Resistant Soybean

Glyphosate-resistant (GR) volunteer corn is a significant problem weed in soybean grown in rotation with corn in the midwestern United States and eastern Canada. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of glufosinate applied in single or sequential applications compared with acetylcoenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitors applied alone or tank mixed with glufosinate for contro...
